Christel Emenheiser View Bio - View Resume
Christel Emenheiser is a mixed media artist who lives and works in York, Pennsylvania.
Her collages and assemblages seek to balance the past and present by combining both old and new found objects.
Because of her studies in Illustration at the Art Institute of Philadelphia,
many of her pieces become narrative statements about the artist, her
life experiences, and the world that we live in.

Brent Leopold -
fixer26@juno.com My art work is like a web of styles and images. It is a cross between Visionary, Surrealism, Abstract, Collaging, and Illustration. I work on illustrations with mix medium on thick water color paper (11x14), paint (any size), and now pen and ink (9x11). As far as the images - Sociology drives them. It is understanding humans in human conditioning like wombs of daily life.. The pictures are meant to interact with viewer .. to show love, hate, fear , and internal speech. Viewers have said it was a dream or a nightmare when they talked to me about the art. Most of the pictures have my personal touch (sarcasm and poetry) and tell storys like a fragmented poetry book. I have great support from the Central Penn area, my mom and family, Susquehanna Art Museum Open Studio, Art Association of Harrisburg, and friends. My art has won awards and has been shown in Gallerys around the area. Look for my art at the new Circle Magazine. |

Angela Sheaffer Most of my creative projects are experimental. I am an untrained artist, a Visionary or Outsider artist. I create what is in my mind, things as of yet born in to this world and inspired by Spirit. I create with discarded and used items, books, beads and wire, paint and canvas, dyes and fabric…. The art of the 70’s and the messages of the yogis and swamis of that time inspire me. My hope is to turn people on to beauty of Inner Peace through art when they experience something I create. Currently my projects include hand dying and painting “OM” tee shirts for your mind, body, spirit centered practice. Each item is a unique piece of art created with focus on the heart chakra… consciously bringing PEACE to your practice. - artforthepeople@verizon.net |

The idea for this chair is two-fold. It started as a tree and was made into a chair. Now I've decorated it to harken back to the tree it once was. The bright sections of color were used to differentiate the pieces of the chair. It helps to make the viewer aware of the manufactured nature of the chair. The chair has now become a juxtaposition of its own manufacturing and its original nature.

Emily Smith -
emily@eesmithdesigns.com
Emily Smith, a native of Camp Hill, started painting and sculpting at the age of 10. Throughout her high school career, she pursued academics while keeping art as a hobby. She received her formal art training at Rochester Institute of Technology where Emily earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design. During her professional career, Emily has done graphic design and marketing for various businesses. Emily also managed a ceramics studio in the Harrisburg area. Currently, she is working to broaden her portfolio while working in the service industry.
Emily's art is usually nature based, but modified to her mind's eye. She enjoys painting and sculpting, with her subject matter generally consisting of surrealistic landscapes. More important than the subject matter in Emily's paintings and sculptures is the color. She uses color as a method to evoke the mood of the painting. She is particularly interested in how different colors affect different people, and uses that in her art to evoke conversation about the nature of color.

rapscallions@aol.com In addition to being a published non-fiction and prose writer and copyrighted songwriter, I consider myself an Outsider Artist. I've created avant-garde pieces in several mediums: hand molded whimsical sculptures of pumpkins, cats, and assorted veggies; assemblage art; contemporary art. My writings as well as my art conveys a depth of thought and emotion from soul-crushing grief to madcap whimsy. Although my creative foray began as a floral design artist, my challenge and comfort now lies with this form of _expression. Art and the life of an artist is home to me. Recently completed -- a lunch box for the Harrisburg Do Lunch program and I always have new pumpkin heads emerging weekly. Also, I'm working on designs for another PA public art project. I had two of my assemblage art pieces hanging in the State Capitol recently and my work as well as the works of other PA Artisans is on display at my gallery/shop: Rapscallions "Nook of the Unique" gallery in Juniata County |

Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, Angela's chair consists of several 90 degree angles and a linear, airy design.
The three separate tiers act as plateaus for placing small plants.
This idea coincides with Frank Lloyd Wright's concept of incorporating the natural environment with his architecture.
The seat of the chair serves as the "ground" and the tall structure towards the back is meant to frame the seat back with its ornate circle design.

Angela Cibos -
acibos@hotmail.com While painting large abstract canvases remains Angela’s forte, she often strays from her norm with charcoal drawings, oil pastel studies and the occasional three-dimensional design. While Angela’s work has been published and received many awards, her most fulfilling award to date was a grant awarded in 2002 to fund her September 11 memorial mural along Front Street in Harrisburg, PA. Continuing to show work, her pieces have been affiliated with Art for the People, Gallery Walk, Artsfest, and WITF, but are most often sold independently in Harrisburg and Philadelphia. Having traveled extensively, she has lived in Chicago, Santa Fe, Boston, and Philadelphia, and currently lives with her husband and one-year-old daughter in her native town, Harrisburg. She is seeking her second art degree from Shippensburg to teach art. |

This chair is constructed of various remnants and artifacts that I have gathered & thus is emblematic of my language as an artist. Using scraps and fragments of objects that were once beautiful and important, I assemble and manufacture new devices and contraptions. My goal as an artist, and as a person, is to create absurd situations that establish the potential for narrative content. Asking a question, with no intention of providing the answer.

Kristina Myers I have always been interested and involved in the arts. Initially I was more interested and involved in performing arts. I began painting about 2 years ago, to relieve stress. It has become a sort of therapy for this married mother of 2 with VERY little time to relax. I paint with acrylic on canvas and have found myself using anything on a piece. The more I paint - the more I want to paint. I tend to paint over each painting before I am pleased with the outcome. So all of my paintings have a least 3 layers and are always textured. I have no formal training. I do freelance graphic design, read and love to experiment in the kitchen. This is my debut as an artist and I hope to inspire creativity. Brandon’s chair is an original poem hand-written on a child’s folding chair. The chair is to act as a functional, physical manifestation of a type of punishment that might be utilized to curb a misbehaving child. In correlation to the poem, the chair represents what the speaker longed for as a form of punishment as a child rather than the physical abuse he instead received. The piece features permanent marker on flat paint.

Joseph Caroppoli An artistic piece of work in any medium is a link between the artist and the viewer. We take it in and we let it out. I took the chair in and allowed it to speak to me. I heard it and let out the vision. Creating this chair was a "total" fine art experience for me. I utilized 3D design, painting, drawing and printmaking techniques intertwined to create one image. The end result is more than just a chair, it is "purely" fine art. jkcaroppoli@peoplepc.com |

When picking out a chair this one caught my eye.
What great elegant curves and structure. This chair was screaming for a new soft elegant look.
I painted the chair with a soft cream background, sanded it real good to give it a loved and used look.
I then painted loose stroke roses, buds, leaves, and bees with color washes on the background.
The chair is sealed with a matte polyurethane Varnish and waxed with a good finishing wax.
