Sunshine Chair

by Bob Ingersoll

The "Sunshine Chair "is made of quarter inch rusted steel which I sprayed with wax to hold the color.. the chair can be used inside or out .. the legs and back are triangles which I used a Mig welder to create a face and design on the top and wavy sun like designs on the legs I used my oxy acetylene to cut sun lines on the back the wavy lines on the seat and the sun itself was created with the torch and then ground down with my grinder the grinder alone did the legs no torch ( a lot harder) got smarter with the rest of the chair the lettering is 10 gauge recycled bronze that was from an old 1877 restaurant that had burned down near Philly it used to be part of a skid plate that the patrons would scrape off there feet before entering the restaurant I then ground all the edges of the seat sculpture to create high lights I guess the chair is a oxymoron a new antique thank you for looking ...... bob
